1992 GMC S15 stalling

My engine wants to stall out almost every time I come to a stop while i`m doing that co-gases fill the cab I have to shift it into neutral and give it the gas to keep it from stalling two mechanic told me that it could be the idle control vavle please help the co-gases make me wozee

Well the iac part is true, but I cannot see how that is causing gasses to get into the cab, you may have an exhaust leak under the vehicle, address the idle air control valve and then have tthem do a safety inspection to check the exhaust system for leaks(holes)
