Trunk won't suck shut on '92 Sedan Deville

The trunk latches, but will not suck shut. Noticed that the right rear turn signal quit, but not sure it happened simultaneously. Looked at the fuses but don't think any are bad.
Taking the car to the garage early this week and I would like to make sure they fix it in the best and least expensive way.
Thanks for any help.

If it doesnt make any noise at all when you close the trunk and you dont have any blown fuses then its your trunk pull down motor. Atleast thats what my experiences have been

Thanks for your reply. I got on a Web site that gave me locations for fuses. There is actually a separate fuse in the trunk that probably needs replaced. Will give the mechanic the diagram for that info (though he probably already knows). Again, thanks! Janie
