Tranaxle Overheating

I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am and recently was told that stopping on a hill with your foot only on the gas can overheat your transaxle. I remember doing this a couple of times in the past. Does this mean it overheated?

I would appreciate any help

Has something happened to give you cause for concern that this has happened?
How far back in the past did you do this? If your not having any problems with it I would keep my foot off the gas and use the brake to avoid problems in the future, but I'm sure you have come to this conclusion your self, allready. Without knowing how long and how hard you stayed on the gas, your guess would be better than anybody elses. If your concern is that strong I would take it in and have it checked. Keep cool 8)
