Thank you so much for your reply. It turns out that, as I ended up stopped facing an upward slope, the 2 gallons I'd put in the tank were all at the back of the tank and couldn't get to the injectors. An additional 2 gallons did the trick! Now I know a lot more about fuel injectors. And that my car is automatic-priming.
