I have a 1992 gmc 3/4 ton truck 6.2 diesel 120000 miles. I am having trouble getting the front disc rotor off. Do I need to remove the bearing nut to pull the rotor off? It is an 8 lug wheel, just cant find what is holding the rotor on. Will I need a wheel puller? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you have to remove the wheel bearing nut, and the brake caliper too. Take the dust cap off, cotter pin out, loosen and remove the nut and outer bearing. You should really get a repair manual for proper torque of the bearing nut.
