my 98 jimmy wont start unless you go under the hood and press the throttle. When you get it started it runs good but once you let the gas go it cuts right off whats the problem? I also had the fuel filter changed and it still does the same thing.

Clean out the idle air control valve and passages and see what happens.

Check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump

Thanks for all your help truly but I got 1 more? I bought some stp throttle body and air intake cleaner? Would that clean the idle air control valve and passages? It says disconnect the air duct from the throttle body spray inside the throttle body and plate and reconnect do I have the right thing? Can I buy something to clean it out or do I have to have it done by a pro?
