2006 GMC Canyon Starting and Shutting off problem.

My truck has a few problems. First of all, starting the truck there is a hesatation or delay of about 3 seconds. About 75 % of the time when I turn the key all the way to the off position it doesn't shut off. I have to let it die. My other problem I am having which I am not sure if it is related is something is drawing power from my battery. So half the time it is dead when I go to start it. I purchased a brand new battery so I know it is not that. I had installed a after market stereo, amp, and speaker box, But when I started having this power problem I uninstalled all of it but I continue to have these problems.

Sounds like a faulty ignition switch causing both your problems. Sounds like ignition power is staying on slightly killing battery and staying on a little causing it to not to shut off and not fully engaging causing the extended crank. Too many problems that all lead to ignition switch so I feel confident that its your problem. Hope this helps
