1995 GMC C2500 Rear brakes lock and drag.

My rear brakes lock and drag but do release. Checked the codes and 12 is the only one which is ABS functioning properly. Backed the rear shoes away from the drums and still have the same problem. Shoes are clean. The truck seems to brake harder in the rear instead of the front. Fluid runs freely though the lines and the wheel cylinders and return springs replaced.

When do they lock and drag? Have you check the proportioning valve? Sound like they may not be working properly.

They stay applied and don't release for a few seconds every time I stop. Starting to think the pads I bought six months ago are junk. Would the p. Valve cause this. When braking down hill the whole truck shakes.

You wanan list what was all replaced so far? What was checked?

Is it rear drum or disk?
