1989 GMC C2500 shifting gears

My transmission shifts from 1st, to 2nd then 3rd real smooth then I dont hear or feel anymore shifting but the truck seems to be running real ruff when I reach around 55mph like it supposed to shift again or something does it even have a 4th gear or o/d got a manual but it doesnt mention about how many gaers th trans. Has pls help!

That came with a 700R4 transmission, sounds like the lockup converter solenoid does not function, they're not very expensive to fix try your local transmission shop, just don't let them try to sell you a new transmission
