I drove the truck 1 week earlier without any problem or any indication of a problem. Went out one week after parking the truck to start it and it won't start. The engine cranks over very strongly, but does not start. Tried pouring a small amount of gasolin into the throttle body and trying again. Still the engine would not start or cough or even try to fire. The truck has an electonic ignition system, could one of the components in the ignition system have failed.

Sounds like an ignition control module failure or a coil failure. You can have them tested at autozone, or place like that for free, (to confirm this) -- BUT -- DO NOT REPLACE THESE IGNITION PARTS WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A/C DELCO PARTS.
