I have a problem to start my car

I HAVE A 1991 GEO PRIZM SOME TIMES I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY AS MAny as 10-12 times before it starts. Can this be the seloind or maybe the distributor rotor while turning the key it clicks and eventually starts.

If it doesnt crank I would go to the starter, but check the small wire at the starter to be sure you are getting 12v to the solenoid when cranking
