1997 Geo Prizm Car wont start

I was driving to work and pulled into the parking lot, when I stopped and turned my key and pulled it out to shut my car off, it kept running. When it finally stopped, it made a loud grumbly noise and started smoking under the hood. Later when I went back out to my car, I lifted the hood to take a look and I was out of coolant. I just had my oil changed about a week or two ago, so I know that I had coolant in there. Now it wont start at all. I tried jumping it, and I get absolutly nothing. Please help!

First fill the car up with coolant and check for leaks and bad hoses.

The other problem is probably a bad ignition switch. You can either replace it or have a locksmith rebuilt it.
