1995 Geo Prizm code scanner

What code scanner do I use for this car. The motor was replaced last year with one from japan for a toyota, now it stumbles when you step on the gas fast.

Since this is a 95 it would be OBDI, so you can buy scanners that will scan the system, but they usually are not cheap.

You could find a shop that can scan the car but they will usually charge you $60-100 for a diagnosis.

If you have the equipment, check fuel pressure first, stumbling can be caused by low fuel pressure.
Check spark with a spark testing tool.

If you don't have the equipment above, then look for any shops that are giving free diagnosis (some local chains here where I live are offering free diagnosis for a limited time).

You can also short T1 and E1 of the diagnostic port. The SES light will flash the code (flash, flash. Pause, flash is code 21).
