Gears slipping and jumping into limp mode, code P2704

When I've been driving my car long enough for the engine and transmission to heat up, I start having issues. The gears start slipping, primarily only from fourth to fifth, but sometimes other gears. And when I'm in either fifth or sixth gear and I accelerate hard or go uphill and have to accelerate, the car will make a whining noise and jump into limp mode. I'm getting a transmission code : P2704 Transmission friction element E Apply time range / performance. Do I just need a fluid / filter change? Or is this another problem?

I would do a service first to help the friction issue. Here is a guide to help walk you though the steps with diagrams below to help you with your car. Also once the service is complete clear the codes
