Gas delivery

My electronic gas gauge is unreliable. Ran out of gas two months ago, put a gallon in and it started right up. Yesterday same thing. Out of gas in goes a gallon and a day later still cannot get it started. By the sound of the motor it wants to start but it just will not. Any suggestions?

They use the gasoline to also keep the fuel pump cool. Running them low on fuel or out of fuel more than once or twice can cause the pump to fail. That is what it sounds like in this case, the pump has failed. Replace the pump and level sender and you should have everything working again.
