Got starting fluid to spray in intake would start but not stay alive. Finally, replaced fuse link 20 in engine bay. Car started up but the new fuse link blew. Placed in a 30 then it started but fuse link turned bright red and immediately turned engine off. So more likely have a connection that's not grounded or something? Not experienced with electrical. I can use your knowledge, thank you.

Hi,

Be careful with the fuses. If you put one in that is too strong, it could cause a fire in the wiring at a different point.

As far as the issue, it sounds like you have a short. Have you checked any of the wiring to the pump to make sure there is no damage to the wiring or the connector?

Let me know.

Joe

I can tell by the engine bay that wiring is either old and covered in grime. I will check on the fuel pump wiring and the fuse link connection wiring. I will upload photos as well. Thank you
