Fuel pump powers up but is not delivering petrol out of tank have disconnected all pipes at tank and still no flow. But my car runs a high pressure fuel pump off the block and I do not know how this works does this suck the petrol or does the one in the tank still do that? And what is the problem of my fuel pump not delivering fuel?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

First, and I apologize in advance, this brand of vehicle is not offered in the US, so I am very limited on technical information related to it. However, I am familiar with direct injection and its operation.

As far as the pump, it is not uncommon for them to run and not produce enough pressure or no pressure when they go bad. The high pressure pump located under the hood is to boost pressure for direct injection. However, the pump in the tank is a low pressure pump and must supply fuel to the high pressure pump. Since you are not getting any fuel from the tank and you hear the pump run, I suspect the pump (in tank) needs replaced.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
