Fuel pump relay rapid clicking noise?

Every time I try and switch out my fuel pump relay to try another one it starts making a rapid quick noise. Can anyone tell me why, please?

It will do this if the fuel pump is pulling too many amps or the there is a bad connection. Here is a guide to help you check and the wiring diagrams so you can see how the relay works and how it is wired:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens. If everything checks out replace the fuel pump.
