Would it be okay to replace only the rusted section with the nitrile rubber fuel line? With the right connections of course.

This depends on where the rust is. Normally it is in a location that gets road salt and water on it which is why it rusted. If this is the case then you are in danger of getting a fuel line puncture. So they actually sell fuel line repair kits that are metal lines that you splice into where the rust is.

Just do an internet search for fuel line repair kits GM, and they should come up. I put a picture of one.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

If I get the male to nylon adapter can I use the nylon fuel line to replace the rusted section? Because it was hard bending the other lines I replaced going to and from the filter.

Nylon is better then rubber but metal is the best. If you don't use metal, just be mindful to check under the vehicle periodically to look for leaks.

The only other option that I would look at is steal braided lines. They sell all sorts of different options but this is the most expensive but do come with flexible lines that are steal braided so they will hold up.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate the help, I'm just going to take the extra work and go with the steel lines so it will be piece of mind. Thanks again.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just here to add my 2 cents. I would suggest replacing the leaking and seeping section with metal line again. It would be easy to piece it together with rubber or nylon but that could be prone to leaking over time. The fuel lines that run from the fuel tank to the engine are pre-formed and bent and easily replaceable. They come in a few sections and are available at the Chevrolet dealership. I've attached a few pictures below of the different replaceable sections. This is just my opinion but I would feel safer making the repair correct to reduce the possibility of leaking again and possibly causing a fire. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
