I replaced both headlight assemblies on car. In the process I have replaced all lights with LED's. Everything works with the exception of the front signals. The back signal but hyper-flash. Only back signals work with hazard lights. I have tried new bulbs, both non LED and LED.

Hello, I'm Danny.

When you change bulbs to LED's you also need to change the turn signal flasher to an LED flasher as well or it will give you problems as you are experiencing. I've attached a picture blow of what the NOVITA brand led flasher looks like and is available at all auto parts stores. This screen shot is from AutoZone. Not sure your car is equipped with a GEM module however. If you give me the last 8 digits of your VIN number I can verify. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Danny,

Thank you for your reply. It is funny that you mentioned the flasher. I tried to look for one but just wasn't able to find any information. Here are the last eight digits from my vin tag:
2C092862. Sorry one happens to be a letter. Let me know and thanks again.

Danny, from what I have found my Mazda 6 has a BCM and doesn't have turn signal flasher.
Now I don't know what to do. Any thoughts on what else to do? The turn signal bulbs I bought have a built in resistor. On the LED Headlights, I added the recommended decoders to each headlight. Is there a possibility those are causing the problem? This is turning out to be very frustrating. It's almost as I have no power coming to the front signal light sockets.

Hello again.

Yes, I found out the turn signal flasher is built into your BCM - body control module. What brand are these LED's you installed? I would have already suggested installing an an inline wire installed resistor but you say they came already installed? Let me know and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

I attached a picture of what I bought. They are on both the high and low beam. I also bought the decoders. Interestingly enough, I tried to put the regular turn signal bulbs in and they didn't work. Out of curiosity I put one of the old headlight housing back in and tried the regular signal bulb and it worked, this was minus the headlights. I thought possibly the assemblies were bad and opted to send them back and I ordered headlight housings from another company. Waiting to get them. One other thing, I did was post on a Mazda site and I am being told because of the polarity LED signals won't work without rewiring. I even tried filing out the socket so that I could try reversing the bulb but that didn't make work either. I know I said a lot here. Hopefully it all makes sense.

Hi, did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the same problem after replacing my headlight assembly and wondering if you managed to get this figured out. Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry, but they never let us know the outcome. Is your vehicle the same year make and model?

Let me know.

Mine is a 2010 Rav4. I figured out it needed a new turn signal switch and then it was good to go! Thanks!

Sorry, I have since sold my Mazda, but I ended up using regular turn signals. I just bought a high intensity bulb. Can't remember the brand.
