Front drive unit swap

Need to know how new a can go to swap out the front drive unit on my truck that still uses the vacuum pulse actuators for the four wheel drive?

Just a quick question first. Are you asking what model years are interchangeable for your front differential?

To swap out the hole front differential and all. Cannot find the pulse vacuum actuators for my 1999. Why does the driver side have a nut on the end of the shaft and the other one just a spline?

Hello again.

I called the Ford dealership and they would need the Ford P/N (part number) that is stamped on the Actuator. Can you upload a picture of the part and part number for me? Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

No the actuator is in the hub or part of the hub assembly.

I did find out out today that the years 1998-2004 front differentials are interchangeable. Does this help? Thanks again for using 2CarPros.
