Found what looks like a clip in the differential. Is this bad?

Hi,

I'm not sure what type of clip was found. Honestly, there aren't many that I can think of that would be in a differential. Can you take a pic of the part and upload it for me to see?

There are two different size differentials that were possible on this vehicle. One is an 8.25" and the other is a 9.25". I attached two pics below showing an exploded view of each differential. The first pic is the 9.25".

Let me know if you see anything that mirrors what you found.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

You have the track-loc 9.25. Take a look at the pic below and let me know if that is what you found.

You need to take it apart and do the repairs. You don't want things like that loose.

I attached the directions for an overhaul below which includes the clutch. Take a look through them and see if you feel comfortable doing it.

Let me know if you have questions or need help.

Take care,

Joe
