Oil Guage reads zero, possibly no pressure

I have replaced the oil pressure switch/sending, I have checked all fuses and they all were good, car has a fresh oil change, yet with all this gauge reads zero on dash board. I noticed that when I turn the car to the on position without turning it over the oil gauge moves from zero and then reads normal, but once I turn the engine over and the car is running the oil gauge drops to zero and the check gauges lite comes on. Even when giving the car gas the gauge continues to read zero without. Even when I drive it it reads zero.

I would also like to add that after the car has set for a day or so its hard to get it started I have to turn it over maybe 15 times before the car will start and stay running. After I get it running, once I cut it off the car will start and run with no problem. Motor sounds good with no knocking sounds in starting the car and while its running. Although when trying to get it started afterit has been sitting for a day or so it putt putts a bit and then smooths out, running great. I changed fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Still have problem

Could these two problems be related? Some one told me that they could be. Please help. Soon as I can I will make a donation to the site.

Fist thing I would do is buy a cheap mechanical oil press gauge, install that in the engine compartment and see what it reads, probably take 10 minutes to do. You'll know for sure this way

Hello guys Well I have been looking into your advice about buying an oil pressure gauge to test oil but remeber how I said I had to problems the second one was the oil pressure and the first is getting the car started. After putting a shot of gas into the throttle and turning the car over about 15 times the car would eventually start running rough for about 3 minutes then smoothing out and running good afterwards. Now even with the shot of gas the car just cranks attempting to start but never actually catching. I put a used fuel pump on the car and a used pressure regulator, I changed the Ignition control module and put new spark plugs in itbut the car is doing the same thing. So until I fix this I can't test my oil pressure. Im lost Do you guys have any Ideas. Let me know

O one other thing I noticed that after I stop trying to crank the engine the motor chokes a couple times and then Isee slight smoke come from the throttle body were the air cleaner gose. I no that the time isnot off if this helps.

I am making a small donation today.
