2002 Ford Windstar Power Steering?

Our Windstar is making almost moaning noises after we have driven it 30 minutes out in town. It is very loud when you turn the wheel and then quiets when the wheel is not moved. Is this the power steering or something else? And how much does this cost to repair? Thank you for your time.

Sure sounds like the p/s pump. Fords are notorious for loud pumps, if the fluid level is ok, try removing some of the fluid and adding about 3-4 tbsp's of motor oil. This will sometimes quiet them down. If not it may need a new pump, but if you go with anything other than OEM (motorcraft) you may wind up with more noise than when you started
