2001 Ford Windstar antifreeze smell?

When I stop at a stop light or my van is in park it idles rough kind of a pulsating idle instead of smooth and I smell antifreeze when I get out the car but no engine light is on What is Wrong? Could the rough idle and an antifreeze leak be connected? My temperture gauge reads normal?

Lets say that the intake manifold has a slight leak at one of the corners, the answer would be yes! Check the coolant level recently?
