The ignition switch shorted out and was replaced. Now the vehicle turns over correctly and does start however runs like it is starved of fuel and then stalls. Prior to the switch failure it ran perfectly. What could have happened to create this problem?

Check your fuel pump fuse. When the ignition shorted out, it shorted the entire circuit. Ive seen a shorted starter cause the fuel pump fuse to pop. If its on the same circuit, thats most likely your problem. Start with that.

Is it possible I damaged the ecu by repeatedly trying to start the vehicle with a bad ignition switch?

Although unlikely, it is possible.

Fuel preasure checks fine. Coil pack was out of spec but new one did not fix problem. Still starts and idles but when I apply the pedal it bogs out. If I let up quickly it resumes idle for awhile but eventually stalls.
