1997 Ford Windstar V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

as said it would skip or need a push into first I would have to put my foot on the brake and giv it a little gas and it would kick into gear its done this fo ra year and now its not skipping at all and the overdrive light is blinking on the gear shift as if it as fixed.

I can tell you for sure, automatic transmissions dont fix themselves. LOL What has happened is now the trans controoller (computer) see a problem and has put the trans into a limp mode. The flashing OD light is to let you know that the computer sees a problem. Have a shop scan the computer to see what codes it has stored for the trnas.
