1996 Windstar won't start after airbag deployed

My 1996 Ford Windstar was recentlly in a front end collision involving airbag deployment. I am away from home and I am told that although the vehicle will turn over, it will not start. Is there a sensor connected to the airbag system that will prevent starting or is this more likely caused by other damage?

Also - is there a certification process for the replacement of airbags or is this a doable home mechanic repair?

I am told damage is minor other than bumper damage and airbag deployment.

Thanks in advance for the help!

It should be doable at home, press the fuel cut off switch back down! it's on the right rear inside the cargo area! Show by the inertia switch...

The van still will not start. Oddly enough, the switch didn't appear to have been tripped. Is it possible that the switch is Broken and should be replaced or do the airbags need to be replaced in order for it to run?

Thanks for the help and the great diagram!!
