I had a new catalysits converter install, later I found out that it was on in reverse does this matter, I went back to the shop that installed it and he stated that it doesn't matter because the air tube wasn't hook up.

Doesnt matter which way it is on but the air hose should be hooked up it is to better help with emiisions, and if you have emission testings in your area they wont let that fly.
