1994 Ford Tempo RUNS ROUGH OR WILL NOT START

Hi, new to this. Ford Tempo 1994 has a real rough idle and will not drive well. Fluctuates all over the place unless I adjust idle speed screw way up. Any help?

Ok give me some history as to what you have done recently ok. What I need is any recent tune up, fuel filter, air filter. Is the engine light on? Get back to me and we will take it from there ok.

Yes the engine light is on. TUNE UP WAS DONE ABOUT A YEAR AGO NEEDS AIR FILTER. REPLACED ALL EMISSIONS CONTROL DEVICES ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. LAST TIME IT DID THIS WAS WHEN THE mass air flow sensor went bad. The car did have a bad heater core hose that did leak and caused the car to overheat with lots of steam and water vapor under the hood.

Ok we need to know what the codes are can you retrieve them so we can see what the car say's is going on? Let me know if you need help getting the codes and do not have a code reader then check with a local parts store to see if one does a free scan most will. If not then all you need is a test light and paper clip and I can walk you through it from there. Let me know what you need at this point and we will go from there.
