Yes, I just bought a 1993 Ford Tempo that "appeared" to my uncle to be in great shape. I have had it a week and now am starting to have over heating issues. Sometimes and it happens when the car has not even been running for a long time I'll notice smoke coming from the coolant container under the hood, then it heating cage rises up and the car over heats, sometimes even the coolant container bubbles up like it was boiling. I at the point park and rest the car but it repeatley happens, I noticed I was low on coolant so filled it up thinking that was the issue, but now it is still doing it this time over over flowing the coolant when It gets to boil and bubble also still smoke comeing from same place. What would I need to know to have this fixed? Any ideas would help I'm clueless.

I would start by replacing the thermostat. You may want to consider flushing the cooling system too.

Let me know this. Does it overheat when you are at highway speeds or only at stops?
