Cruise control wont set

97 Taurus 3.0,133000 miles. The cruise light comes on but when the set button is pushed nothing happens. Is this an easy fix?

The easiest will be if it's the deactivation switch on the master. Also check your brake lights, are the stuck on?

I figured it out. The connector on the end of the cable that comes from the control unit was unhooked. It is covered by a plastic shield that needs to be removed to gain access.
