1996 Ford Taurus LX 3.0 ltr. OHC V6 recently changed the engine (used) turned fine on the engine stand. But when installed hard to turn. Starter won't turn the engine but it will by hand. Replaced starter still no good. Checked all wiring and battey is charged. What did I do wrong?

One thing to check is if the motor came out of a different year of vehicle the flywheel could be different enough to have problems mounting to the torque converter. If this is the case then it will be hard to turn by hand and a starter will not turn it.

Holy COW! You will not believe this one! I mixed up the starter bolt's and the transmission bolt's! The tranny bolt's were 1/8" longer than the starter bolt's. They were hanging up on the torque converter making the engine impossible to turn! OHMYGOODNESS! THanks for the suggestions thou!
