I have a 97 Taurus, 95K, 3.0 L OHV Vulcan engine. It spun a bearing or something, nevertheless, the engine is locked up. In the process of taking the engine out, I have to remove the flywheel-to-torque converter bolts. I can't reach one of the four bolts, even with the oil pan removed. I am toying with the idea of cutting through the flywheel to possibly allow the flywheel to turn. Help would be appreciated. What do you suggest? Thanks for your help. Dave

As I said before, I am truly at a loss. A suggestion was given that if I could cut through the crank, the flywheel might be loose enough to turn and allow removal. If you have another suggestion, I'd be glad to try it. Cutting through the crank sounds pretty unlikely, and I don't have a torch, Sawzall would have to be tried, but I don't know if it's capable. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the advice! I had a middle-of-the-night revelation that led me to the same conlusion, and it worked like a charm. Thank you very much for your help! The car is up and running, better than ever, according to my son. Thanks again, Dave Runge
