I recently purchased a 1993 Ford Taurus Wagon LX with the 3.8l OHV (Essex) engine. I got the car on a Thursday and after charging the battery and a little gas I got it home. The car had been sitting for 2 years before I got it. When I got the car home I drained the gas tank and changed the fuel filter. The car continued to run for the next 3 days. The saturday after I got the car, it started to run a little rough (car had ran great for those three days) I was less than a 1/4 of a mile from my house when the problem started. Every time I would try to accellerate. The car tried to stall. Only way I could get it home was to let it 'idle' until I got to my driveway. I parked the car and switched it off and since then the car wont start. I changed the fuel filter again to see if that would help and it didnt. I checked to see if the spark plugs were getting spark and they were. I checked to see if the fuel rail was getting fuel and it is. When I switch the ignition to the 'ON' position, the fuel pump comes on and runs constantly. Also at the same time, the radiator fan is constantly running (it didnt do this before). The car has been sitting for a week and still isnt starting. The engine will turn over but will not start. I've tried to start the car until the battery died. Recharged the battery and still it wont start. I've been told the problem could be the Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM) or the Engine Control Module (ECM). Neither of these is cheap and I dont want to be throwing money away on parts that arent going to solve the problem. I've posted this question on several forums to no avail. Nobody can give me a solution to this problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated. (I have no method of payment to make a donation) Please help.
