2007 Ford Taurus Wants to Stall

During the past two warm seasons when I leave the AC running or when I leave the car running in park my car trys to stall as Im driving and doesnt want to accelerate very well, it does this unitl IVe driven a few miles down the road (about 5 miles)

Has the check engine light ever come on? Honestly, it sounds like a bad temp sensor. Its purpose is to tell the computer how rich or lean to make the fuel mixture based on coolant temp and outside ambient temps.
