2004 Ford Taurus sometimes sticks in park while engine run

Sometimes the transmission will not shift out of park, I have to cut off and restart, hit the brakes etc

When this happens, check to see if the brake lights are working. The parl lock solenoid is powered by the brake light switch. If the switch is going bad (no brake lights when it happens), it won't come out of park.

Let me know what you find.
