Are you replacing the door lock cylinder or the door lock actuator?

I bought a black plastic actuator that has three rods attached to it. I'm trying to get the unit out of the door so I can replace the thing that makes the door lock rod go up and done. The original sounds like it is "stripped" when I try to remotely open or close the lock. Thanks bob

Ok, to replace your vehicle's door lock actuator you must first remove the door ajar switch. do this by performing the following steps..

now you should be able to remove the door lock actuator by lifting the locking tab and sliding the actuator off of the latch assembly.
