Engine Performance problem
2003 Ford Taurus 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 87000 miles
Recently I have had problems with my 2003 Ford Taurus stalling while idling at a stop sign or light. I replaced the air filter, cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve and MAF. Recently the engine light came on. I took the car to Auto Zone to have the OBD engine code read. The codes were P0430 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)), P0171 (System Too Lean (Bank 1)) and P0174 (System Too Lean (Bank 2)). I took my car to Midas and they said that both Catalytic Converters were bad and I had them replaced for $1200. The car ran fine for about two days and now it is stalling again. Is there something I should try before taking it back to Midas?
have the same problem?
