We replaced our gas tank and radiator after hitting something metal in the road. When we got everything fixed and started the car it ran fine for about 10 minutes and then we shut it off. When we tried to start it again it will not start but it sounds like it wants to turn over. We keep hearing that it has to be the fuel pump but it just doesn't seem to make sense. If anyone has any other ideas on what we could check before replacing the fuel pump it would be greatly apprieciated!

Hi. Yes turn key on listen carefully near the fuel tank, you should hear the pump run for 3 seconds, and then shut off.

Now under the hood there is a valve on the fuel rail push the valve in is there fuel spray there if yes fuel pump is ok.

Check all fuses. Look in the path of where the debri hit on the car look for other things that may have damaged.

Disconnect neg cable on batt to try and reset computer. Check the connection at the fuel pump to be sure it is connected good.

Check the spark plugs to be sure you have spark.
