I have a 2000 ford taurus and just recently started having this problem. The vehicle shuts off when I stop whether in gear or in park. I run a mail route so almost every time I stop for about 30 seconds or so the vehicle shuts off then I restart it. I replaced the throttle positioning sensor, that didn't work and I replaced 2 oxy sensors. What should I check next?

Hello,

There are few possibilities of why it shuts down like this. It could be due to a torn intake boot, or a vacuum leak. It can also be a faulty idle air control valve (IAC).

Many times, this type of issue will trigger the check engine light.
Is your check engine light illuminated? If so scanning and retrieving the code(s) can help with the diagnostics.

The IAC controls the air flow while the engine is at idle. A dirty or malfunctioning IAC can impact the way the engine idles, it can also cause it to stall due to not being able to provide air flow.

Many times, clearing out the IAC can improve this issue.

Here is a helpful guide:

I have attached the IAC diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
