I was driving my car and after excelerating to get on the freeway the RPM's dropped from 3 to 1 very quickly. It picked right back up and I continued on. Just recently I noticed my cars battery was "sluggish" in starting. I drive it and park it for a long period - overnight - and it is fine the next day. I drive it to the grocery store and it wont start back up.? Alternator was checked and is ok. Battery is new. I bought a new one because the old one was dead, or so I thought. Mechanic says he cant figure it out and dosnt know where to start looking for an electrical problem. Please, any suggestions.

The vehicle has a powertrain control module that monitors driveability functions of the automobile. When a fault occurs, the check engine light may illuminate, and by retrieving codes you can determine a strategy for a flow of diagnosis.

Go to a shop and ask them to check whether or not there is any trouble code data stored.
