1997 Ford Taurus starter problems

On my girlfriends car, the starter wont turn off after I try to start it. I have to turn the ignition off and then disconnect the battery. I replaced the ignition switch (didnt work) so I took out the starter and brought it to schucks (it passed). Any ideas what it can be. THANKS!

Check starter relay in engine compartment fuse relay box

need manual CHECK IT @
