HI, I HAVE A 1997 FORD TAURUS. CAR WILL TURN AS IF IT IS STARTING BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER ALL THE WAY. KIND OF SOUNDS IKE THE CAR IS OUT OF GAS, BUT IT HAS GAS IN IT. CAN PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS COULD BE? I HAVE DONE ALL THE CHECKS FOR CAR NOT STARTIG LIKE CHECK THE BATTERY AND THINGS AND STILL WILL NOT TURN OVER.

Get a carb cleaner and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

I HAVE A CARBORATOR ON THIS CAR? WHERE IS IT? I DID CHECK TO SEE IF I HEAR THE INJECTORS WHEN I ATTEMPT TO CRANK CAR AND I HEARD NOTHING. THE CAR WAS DRIVING FINE WITH NO PROBLEMS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS SUCH AS THIS EVER BEFORE. I WENT INTO TH STORE AND CAME BACK OUT AND THE CAR WOULDNT START, IT WAS DOING THIS THING IT'S DOING. LIKE I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS.
