1997 Ford Taurus fluid leaking from reservior

The temperture gauge on my ford recently started bobbling a little and now everytime I shut the car off the fluid leaks from the reservior and im not sure why I would greatly appreciate your advice on how to correct this problem before it worsens thank you.

Have you taken the reservoir out to check for any cracks? My was having the same problem and the only way to see if it was leaking from the reservoir was to take it out of the car and sure enough there was a crack on the side toward the fender. I bought one from the junk yard for $5 and it lasted about a year and the crack was in the same place. Bought a new one from the dealer for around $58.
