Trany works and shifts wonderful during cold ops, but once reaches operating temp, will shift out of gear if I come to a complete stop and does not want to shift back into gear. Increasing RPM for about 3 minutes will allow it to eventually take a forward gear, but absolutely no reverse. I discovered a cracked vaccum line leading to the kickdown switch, and repaired. No improvement. Changed the trany fluid and filter, twice, no improvement. Had Ford in Germany conduct computer diagnotics and found the vehicle speed sensor malfunction. He smelled the fluid and did not indicate burnt clutch. My Anti-lock light is on since I repaired the vaccum leak. So I have Vehicle Speed sensor malfunction and Anti-lock light. My question: Could the Anti-lock, or any other system for that matter, affect the vehicle speeds sensor, or are they indepenent of each other? One other symtom I noticed. While the vehicle is slowly reaching op temp, and only at op temp, sometimes, the initial shifting into gear is rather harsh, like two metal plates slapping at one another. Ford dealership said that 60% of Ford Trany problems are a result of faulty Vehcile Speed Sensor attached to trany. Second Opinion, please. Experts, please can you give me some good advice in this area, I will be so greatly appreciative.
