Thanks for the help.
The engine cranks over but does not start. I do not hear the fuel pump running. No sparks either. The car suddently died while being driven on the road.
I was going to replace the engine control module as a first step. I have a spare vehicle with the same year, make and model. I can swap parts from the spare vehicle to see what fixes the problem. Could you please guide me? I am helping a friend who has no money and out of work. I will be willing to donate as soon as I hear from you and you show me a path.
Thanks again.

Also check th the fuel inertia switch inside the truck on the side wall of the trunk. On my taurus I had the same problem and spent alot of money to find out this switch needed to be pressed in. It cuts off the fuel pump in case of an accident. It sucks because you can hit the outside of the trunk where it is located and it may cut it off also so be careful. If thats fine and still dies while driving then you may need a new fuel pump
