I am trying to replace the alternator in my 96 ford ranger xlt. I am unsure exactly how to rotate the tesion bar to release the tension to remove the belt. The engine size is a 2.3 L with the tension bar near the bottom of the engine.

You use the right size box wrench and get on the bolt on the pulley I think yours is 15mm...I use 2 interlocked wrenches for extra leverage.
