Hi, on alternator, how do you know it's 'clicking' on and off? Are you sure it's alternator?

On the rev problem I suspect fuel flow/pressure. Maybe clogged filter?

Now i'm wondering if your alternator belt is tight enough or it's worn or both.

People who dont have to pass emissions usually remove converter or gut it out. It's worth some money for scrap. 1 test is to unhook exhaust in front of converter and see if vehicle runs better. Usually when they go bad they smell funny(rotten eggs).

Do we know what it is? And you mean you have pre-cats as they are called. People gut those 2. You might look at throttle plate for dirty/greasy and clean it. Have you ever cleaned changed the IAC valve ford has a slightly diff name for it. ICV maybe.
