2003 Ford Ranger XLT 45000 miles. I am about to put an alarm on my Ranger. The alarm has remote start on it and I have a manual transmission. The question I have is does this truck have a Neutral Safety Switch on it? If it does I can just tap into that and have the remote start work just fine otherwise I am going have to put a pin in each gear.

Your clutch interlock does that job, you must push the clutch to start in any position, neutral included? I know my 87 Taurus was set up that way, depressed clutch always to start.

As far as I know it is Illegal to put a remote start on a standard shift. If it starts with no driver and moves. You will own the result!

Good point, sounds reasonable to me. Something goes awry the parking brake, if remembered to be applied wouldn't hold it back, never entertained the idea of one on my car.
